Guinness World Record Attempt Coming To Buffalo

Later this month, Buffalo could be permanently placed in the Guinness Book of World Records. There will be an official attempt to set the record for the world’s largest wing-eating competition.

Buffalo, New York, Home Of The Chicken Wing

We all know that chicken wings were invented here in Buffalo, New York. The most popular story is that the “Buffalo wing” was invented at the Anchor Bar back in 1964, when the owner Teressa Bellissimo created a late-night snack for her son and his friends.

She deep-fried leftover chicken wings and tossed them in a spicy sauce, and boom, the “buffalo wing” was born. Now Buffalo could be the home of the “World’s Largest Wing Eating Competition” as well, and it’s all part of a massive fundraiser event.

A Not So Silent Night Fundraiser

The world record attempt is a part of the Revelas Family Foundation’s annual Christmas fundraiser, “A Not So Silent Night”. Money raised at the event will be donated to the Horizon Health Services’ Teen Mental Health Program.

The event is set to take place on Saturday, December 20th, at the Buffalo Convention Center from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm. Registration to participate in the competition is currently closed, but you can still head out to the event and enjoy a lot of different activities…
