Good morning, Buffalo. Here’s what you need to know today.
Your Weather Planner
There will be a few areas of lake effect snow in the Southern Tier to start the day. As the day progresses, a quick disturbance moves in bringing a round of scattered snow showers. This quick disturbance also intensifies the already exisitng lake effect snow band and pushes it into downtown Buffalo. The placement of the lake effect band will bring slick travel for the afternoon/evening commute. Very isolated areas south of downtown will see the most snowfall accumulation, about 6 inches. Accumulation in Buffalo and slightly northward will see about 2 to 4 inches of new snowfall.
Outside of the lake effect snow, today will be very breezy. Drifting and blowing snow are a main harzard, especially as lake effect snow grows in intensity. These breezy conditions will continue through Thursday. Wind gusts will be between 30 and 50 mph over the next 4 days.
Good news is, we are dry tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday morning. Milder temperatures even creep back in by Wednesday!…
