BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Crime rates have gone down significantly in the City of Buffalo, Acting Mayor Scanlon said Tuesday.
During a press conference, Scanlon cited statistics from the past year, including murder rates, violent crimes, and more nuisance crimes such as motor vehicle thefts and property crime.
27 homicides were recorded in Buffalo this year, down 29 percent from 2024 and 51 percent from the five year average. Scanlon said this number could be the lowest since modern record keeping began in the city…
