BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A mass shooting in Australia on the first day of Hanukkah killed 15 people and is shaking Jewish communities across the globe and here in Western New York.
“There are people in Jewish Buffalo’s community who had siblings who were on Bondi Beach who had to run and shelter, there are connections to individuals who lost their lives, and an attack on Jewish people anywhere is an attack on Jewish people everywhere,” said Miriam Abramovich, the CEO of the Buffalo Jewish Federation. “It’s been a really hard 24 hours for Jewish community members.”
