BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — With two weeks left in his term, Acting Buffalo Mayor Chris Scanlon discussed how his administration continues to address neglected properties downtown and outlined his future plans in the final edition of Ask the Mayor.
Abandonment proceedings have already been initiated on the Buffalo Grand Hotel, which includes up to 500 rooms that Scanlon said are valuable for attracting conferences and tourism to the Queen City.
Scanlon said the city now has ownership of 2 St. Louis Place. “We will very quickly turn that property around, put it on the MLS, and try to put it in the hands of a responsible owner,” Scanlon said. He discussed the process for revitalizing these Buffalo properties. “There’s obviously some upfront costs, but you can get it back on the backend on the sale.”…
