Alain Kaloyeros avoids more jail time in Buffalo Billion case

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Alain Kaloyeros will not serve any more jail time, nearly a decade after being charged in the Buffalo Billion Scandal.

Kaloyeros pleaded guilty on Monday in Federal Court, and was sentenced to time served and a $100,000 fine.

Kaloyeros was one of several men convicted in a pay-to-play conspiracy back in 2018, which included a $750 million contract to build a solar-panel manufacturing facility in Buffalo, which was the centerpiece of then Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Buffalo Billion economic-development program.
