Community Workshops: Scajaquada Creek Ecological Restoration Plan

Have you been thinking about ways to get involved with helping out your community? The restoration of water and greenspaces is a great way to help out. In the winter of 2026, communities along Scajaquada Creek watershed are invited to participate in a series of workshops that will help Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper to “build a shared vision for the protection and the restoration of the watershed.”

“Do you live, work of play in the Scajaquada Creek Watershed? If so, you are invited to join us for our Community Workshop series kicking off in January to learn about how communities along the creek connect with their local waterway and help guide us in creating a watershed-wide Ecological Restoration Plan!

The time has come to take back natural resources that have been compromised for decades. Today, the creek suffers from sewage and stormwater overflows, high bacteria levels, habitat degradation, etc. And while there are some serious problems that cannot be addressed (entire communities were built on top of the creek), there are still plenty of ways to restore a semblance of balance to the watershed as a whole…
