BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Residents from across Western New York came together Friday for the first night of Kwanzaa celebrations titled “Rooted in Legacy—Rising to Liberation.” The celebrations officially kicked off a week full of culture and community pride.
“Kwanzaa says look within your own family, find what’s good, and celebrate it. Celebrate the good,” said Robert Winstead, co-chair of the 2025 Buffalo Kwanzaa Committee.
