Western New York Weather: Dangerous Travel Continues in Oswego County Through Tonight

Buffalo, New York – Travel remains difficult to nearly impossible in parts of northern Oswego County today as heavy lake effect snow continues east of Lake Ontario, even while snow showers gradually weaken across much of Western New York.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, lake effect snow off both Lake Erie and Lake Ontario is expected to trend weaker through the day. However, a persistent and intense snow band east of Lake Ontario will remain capable of producing significant snowfall, particularly during the morning hours. Snowfall rates in northern Oswego County could reach 2 to 3 inches per hour early, before easing to 1 to 2 inches per hour later today…
