2 Buffalo businesses close their doors days into new year

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Revolver Records’ Hertel Avenue location and Allen Burger Venture have announced closures just days into the new year, and local business owners and an economic expert say this time of year can make things even harder.

“For a lot of businesses, this is the time of year where you have to make the hard decisions,” said Dr. Fred Floss, economics and finance professor at Buffalo State University. “At the end of the year, they’re going to look at what their leases are and if their leases are up, they’re going to look at their bottom line, whether or not they can borrow from the bank, and then make a tough decision, but that doesn’t mean that this isn’t normal.”
