Underground fault leads to thousands without power in the City of Buffalo

An underground fault led to thousands in the City of Buffalo being without power on Wednesday morning.

At one point, more than 5,000 customers were without power. Much of the outage, according to National Grid’s mapping software, is around Main Street in Downtown Buffalo.

A National Grid spokesperson told 7 News there was likely an underground fault that caused the issues, but it’s unclear what exactly caused the fault…
