BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 43-year-old man from Warsaw was sentenced on Friday after he strangled a woman to death in 2023, the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Officials said Michael Bellaire killed Cheryl Cook at her residence in Warsaw on Nov. 2, 2023. He then stole her debit card and fled to Mexico before finally being apprehended by Mexican authorities almost a year later.
He was returned to Wyoming County and found guilty on Oct. 20, 2025 following a seven-day trial…
