NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — A Grand Island man is facing charges after allegedly leading police on a brief chase in North Tonawanda early Saturday morning.
According to North Tonawanda Police, around midnight on Saturday morning, a North Tonawanda police officer attempted to stop a vehicle on River Road for alleged vehicle and traffic violations. The driver then allegedly refused to stop for police, causing a brief chase northbound on River Road.
The vehicle then became disabled after crashing just north of the North Tonawanda/Wheatfield line. The suspect then allegedly fled on foot, and was then tracked by the NTPD K9 unit.
