Winter weather advisory in place for New York from Wednesday to Friday

A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 12:58 p.m. valid from Wednesday 11 a.m. until Friday 1 a.m. for Southern Erie as well as Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.

The weather service says to be ready for, “Total snow accumulations 4 to 7 inches. The highest amounts will be across the Chautauqua Ridge and Boston Hills. Wind chills below zero are expected Thursday and Thursday night.”

“Travel will be difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes,” states the weather service. “Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving.”
