BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Lancaster woman who admitted to stealing nearly $2 million from a medical practice was sentenced Tuesday, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.
Bonnie Bova was sentenced to an interderminate sentence of 2-2/3 years (2 years 8 months) and eight years in prison. Bova pleaded guilty last July to one count of Grand Larceny in the First Degree and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree.
Erie County District Attorney’s Office says that over a seven-year period, Bova issued checks from the medical practice to herself while working as a bookkeeper and attempted to cover it up by altering computer records to make it appear the payments were made to a legitimate vendor.
