Hamburg, Orchard Park + East Aurora in Weather Bullseye for Snow

It is a going to be a wild weather ride for the next few days in Western New York with everyone getting a significant amount of snow.

Right now, there are 2 advisories happening: A Winter Weather Advisory for all of Western New York and a travel advisory for all of Erie County.

What does a travel advisory mean? Can I drive during a travel advisory?

It is not a travel BAN, so yes, you can drive in it. But, officials urge the community to not do any unnecessary traveling until the advisory is lifted. There are so many times where it looks ‘clear’ by your house, but then the gusts of wind can cause a white out making the driving conditions very dangerous.

Here are some of the snow totals of what to expect the next 36 hours.

The snow is already falling in the Western New York area, but here is how much your town can expect to get in terms of snow now through Wednesday afternoon:

  • Orchard Park – 24 inches
  • East Aurora – 24 inches
  • Hamburg – 24 inches
  • Eden – 21 inches
  • Evans – 21 inches
  • Lackawanna – 21 inches
  • Elma – 21 inches
  • Wales – 21 inches
  • Marilla – 21 inches
  • West Seneca – 18 inches
  • Colden – 18 inches
  • Brant – 18 inches
  • Lancaster – 15 inches
  • Depew – 15 inches
  • Cheektowaga  – 15 inches
  • Concord  – 15 inches
  • Alden – 15 inches
  • Buffalo – 10 inches
  • Collins – 10 inches

Depending on where you are, most parts of Clarence, Newstead, Amherst, Tonawanda, Niagara Falls and Lewiston will really only get about 6 more inches now through Wednesday afternoon.
