Veterinarian’s guilty plea ends ‘bizarre’ case over a missing dog, Benji

CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A local veterinarian accused of changing the identity of a missing Yorkshire terrier named Benji pleaded guilty Tuesday to companion animal stealing and second-degree falsifying business records.

Kimberly Parkhill-Bown, a former veterinarian at McBride Animal Hospital, committed the acts under the suspicion that some members of the Tuscarora Indian Nation, including Benji’s owners, neglected their pets, according to an account from a whistleblower.

On Tuesday, Parkhill-Brown pleaded guilty to the misdemeanors in City of Tonawanda Court, and is scheduled to be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. March 17…
