TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — New license plate reading cameras are coming to Tonawanda, but this isn’t new for the town. The town board approved a resolution on Monday to switch the company that provides the cameras across the neighborhood.
The resolution was approved by a vote of 3-1. Councilwoman Jill O’Malley asked to table the resolution, but that was overruled.
“They’re a very useful tool for our police department,” said Town Supervisor Joe Emminger. “We are going to do whatever we can to keep our community safe. This is one of the ways that we can continue to do it.”…
