Buffalo man indicted, charged with attacking postal carrier

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was indicted on Monday for allegedly assaulting a postal carrier in September, the United States Attorney’s Office said.

Officials said that Jacob D. Ortiz, 34, allegedly attacked a letter carrier on Columbus Avenue on Sept. 9, 2025, punching him in the face. The letter carrier suffered cuts and bruises to his head, officials said.

Ortiz is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
