AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Town of Amherst is encouraging neighbors to help each other out, one good deed at a time.
The town launched “Amherst Good Deeds” at the end of last month, with the goal of 500 good deeds by the end of the year. Supervisor Shawn Lavin said in less than a week, 20 good deeds have been reported to the town either through the dedicated website page or by contacting the supervisor’s office.
Lavin said his time on the town board inspired the initiative, after seeing so many people do good things for Amherst he wanted to showcase their dedication to the community…
