Buffalo restaurant Osteria 166 has announced plans to end service at 166 Franklin Street and move to a new concept inside Ulrich’s 1868 Tavern at 674 Ellicott Street later this year. The restaurant will close at their current location in late March.
“I have known Sal Buscaglia from Ulrich’s since we were young, so it’s exciting to bring our businesses together in this way,” Osteria 166 co-owner and co-founder Nick Pitillo said. “At the same time, Osteria 166 is where my dreams came true. In a business sense, that’s my firstborn. When I think of all of the people who made that place what it is, I am overcome with gratitude. That starts with our workers. They have been the lifeblood of the Osteria family for 13 years. And, of course, our loyal customers. So many familiar faces have filled our dining room and sat at our bar. They have become family. I could not be prouder of what we’ve built so far. As difficult as change can be, we are excited to carry that same spirit forward with this new chapter that we are going to build.”
The new concept will focus on casual lunch service and grab-and-go meals. Tentative plans call for a late spring/early summer launch…
