(WNY News Now) – The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of Western New York, warning of accumulating snow, gusty winds, and hazardous travel conditions through Saturday evening.
The advisory was issued at 12:44 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, and remains in effect from 7 a.m. Friday through 7 p.m. Saturday, according to NY Alert and the National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo.
Forecasters say a combination of widespread snow and localized lake-effect snow is expected across the region. Total snowfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are anticipated, with locally higher amounts possible in hilltop areas south of Buffalo.
