CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A New York man is being held in county prison after police allege he stole two victims’ personal information and opened bank accounts in their names in Pennsylvania.
Anthony J. Perry, 37, of Buffalo, NY, is facing multiple felony charges, including forgery and identity theft, court documents show.
According to a criminal complaint, State Police were alerted by the IRS Jan. 30, reporting a fraud investigation at Central Penn Bank in Penn Township. It was learned that two individuals had used fake identification with stolen personal information to open accounts with the bank and attempted to deposit two checks, one for $9,951.14 and another for $12,806.86…
