Niagara County home believed to be total loss after fire

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A home on East Avenue in Newfane is believed to be a total loss after a fire spread from the garage Monday morning, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Around 11:40 a.m. Monday, officials responded to 6124 East Avenue to reports of a garage on fire. The garage was close to the house and the fire quickly spread.

Everyone was safely removed from the house. Both the house and the garage are now believed to be a total loss. The residents are being assisted by the Red Cross as an investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.
