Truck Crashes Into Rail Bridge In North Buffalo

Under normal circumstances, Colvin Avenue between Amherst Street near Linden is pretty busy. With several businesses, Delaware Park, and one of Buffalo’s best private schools within a few blocks of each other, that section of Colvin Ave is pretty busy for traffic.

However, Monday, February 16, 2026, happens to be a President’s Day, a federal holiday that has closed schools across Western New York. With schools closed, there wasn’t much traffic on Colvin Avenue, but that didn’t stop a commercial truck for finding a way to crash into the CSX rail bridge that carries freight train traffic through the Buffalo beltway.
