Safety concerns following alleged Walden Galleria stabbing

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Safety concerns are continuing to grow after violence broke out at the Walden Galleria last Friday.

On Friday, Cheektowaga Police said around 7:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of a fight at the mall. Police said two females allegedly pulled out knives and assaulted three others, sending them to the hospital.

Lakeya Richerson, 22, and 21-year-old Joshalyn Paul were arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

“Unfortunately, there have been a number of incidents at that mall,” said former Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo. “Usually, it’s mostly juveniles or young persons’ violence, fights, things of that nature.”…
