It looks like the landscape of local TV here in Western New York is changing again. Over the past several years, we have seen local TV reporters and anchors step away from the mic for other media jobs, retirement, or just to spend more time with family. Another familiar face is set to disappear from your screen later this week.

Another TV Reporter Is Set To Leave Western New York

Channel 7 will soon be without one of its reporters as Michael Schwartz announced on his Facebook page that this Friday will be his last day at WKBW. He was here for 5 years and said in his statement that he will be able to unveil where he is headed next in about two weeks. Check out the statement he posted on Facebook.

WIVB Announced New Morning Co-Host

This was the second major move in local TV over the past couple of weeks. Sarah Minkewicz, who had been filling in as Wake Up co-host on WIVB, announced last week she would be taking over that role on a permanent basis.

She was filling in for Ali Touhey, who left the morning co-host job back in November to spend more time with her family.

We wish Michael the best in his new job, and hopefully, he is moving up in the world of TV broadcasting…
