Lead water lines to be replaced in Buffalo with $1 million investment

BUFFALO , N.Y. (WIVB) — Over $1 million in federal funding will be going towards replacing lead pipes in the city, Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan and Congressman Tim Kennedy announced Wednesday.

Nearly $1.1 million will benefit Buffalo’s underserved communities, including those with high blood lead levels and those who cannot afford to replace pipes on their own.

“Clean drinking water should not be a privilege for the few, but rather a basic right for every American,” Kennedy said. “Every family in Buffalo should be able to turn on their tap and trust the water that comes out.”…
