Partial Metro rail suspension extended through the weekend

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A partial rail suspension affecting areas of downtown Buffalo has been extended until Monday, the NFTA announced Friday.

A suspension of Metro rail service between the Allen and DL&W stations was first put in place to accommodate the removal of the pedestrian bridge on Main Street. It was originally scheduled to be lifted Feb. 21.

The NFTA previously announced the following accommodations:

  • Free shuttle bus service between Allen Station and Canalside
  • Route 8 Main will be free for all passengers traveling south of Allen Station
