BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Queen City continues to celebrate Black History Month with Hidden Village Events, finding a creative way to empower local families by hosting its “Wakanda Alignment Day.”
It’s a superhero showcase event that places the focus on Black characters in comics, films and video games. Participants were able to check out a massive collection of action figures and other memorabilia.
“There’s a lot of cultural context within the comics, so when you see a word you don’t recognize, or maybe they take a real-life event and then they kind of fold that into their own story, I think that’s an opportunity for people to recognize that their stories are powerful,” said Anthony Pierce, Hidden Village Events founder…
