Popular Frozen Meatballs from NY-Based Company Recalled Due to Possible Metal Contamination

A well-known brand of frozen, ready-to-eat Italian meatballs have been issued a recall notice due to possible contamination, according to an announcement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture on Sunday, February 22.

The federal agency’s Food Safety and Inspection Service notes that West Seneca, NY-based Rosina Food Products, Inc. has recalled “Bremer Family Size Italian Style Meatballs” because the product may mistakenly contain metal fragments, following a consumer complaint.

About 9,462 pounds of ready-to-eat frozen meatballs are being recalled, which were shipped in 32-ounce bags – each containing 64 meatballs – with a “Best By” date of Thursday, October 30. There are also timestamps on the back label between 17:08 and 18:20, and the number “EST. 4286B” stamped on the USDA inspection mark…
