Buffalo City Council seeks update, answers on snow plow fleet but frustration over city fleet manager access lingers

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo City Council members took up the issue of the city’s snow plow fleet today as they sought more answers on why there were so many plows that were out of service in mid-February.

Department of Public Works Commissioner Nolan Skipper provided an update but there was also more confusion in their discussion as they sought to hear from a key manager in the process.

Mayor Sean Ryan had testified in his funding request to state lawmakers in Albany earlier this month that because of the harsh winter weather and its affect on equipment the city’s plow fleet was down to 14 from their original number of 27 at the start of the plowing season…
