Texas Teen Wanted in El Paso Bar Shooting Apprehended in Buffalo Raid

An 18-year-old Texas fugitive did not remain under the radar for long. Donovan Berry was apprehended at a Buffalo apartment on Tuesday, bringing an end to a cross-state investigation for an alleged December 2025 shooting in El Paso. According to law enforcement reports, federal and regional officials moved into the neighborhood to arrest Berry, who is currently being held locally.

According to WGRZ, Berry is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly shooting a security guard at an El Paso pub in December 2025. Marshals informed the outlet they moved in on Tuesday after receiving a tip from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force that Berry might have fled to the Buffalo region. In a statement, the Marshals thanked the New York State Police, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the Buffalo Police Department, and Akron police for their assistance in apprehending Berry.
