Fire at Amherst apartment complex causes $200K in damages

AMHERST, NY — A fire in an Amherst apartment complex sparked a large response Sunday morning.

According to a spokesperson for the Amherst Police Department, fire companies responded to a fire on the 600 block of Skinnersville Road at around 8:45 am for reports of a fire in an apartment complex.

The Getzville Fire Company responded to the scene and was able to put the fire out by 9:30 am. They were assisted by Ellicott Creek Fire, North Bailey Fire, Eggertsville Fire, and East Amherst fire, according to an APD spokesperson…
