Jamestown man pleads guilty to kidnapping, drug charge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Jamestown man could be sentenced to life in prison and face a $5 million fine after pleading guilty to a 2023 kidnapping, the United States Attorney’s Office said Monday.

Dwayne Lowery, 31, pleaded guilty to kidnapping as well as possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, officials said.

Officials said that in October 2023, Lowery kidnapped a victim in Olean, holding the victim at various locations in Buffalo and Olean for around 22 days. Lowery physically prevented the victim from leaving, officials said, and provided the victim with narcotics.
