LOCKPORT, N.Y. — The Niagara County Department of Health on Friday confirmed a case of rabies in a raccoon found in the Town of Ransomville.
Health officials say the raccoon had an encounter with a dog on Dickersonville Road on Wednesday, and the test results were received Friday. The dog was up to date on its rabies vaccination and will receive a booster shot.
