BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The 56th “Buffalo Mass Mob” took place on Sunday at St. John Vianney Church in Orchard Park.
Since being founded 13 years ago, the idea behind the effort is to “mob” smaller churches that may need a boost. Parishioners of St. John Vianney are currently appealing plans to close and merge the parish.
“When we started doing this 13 years ago, our goal was to get maybe about 30-40 people to come to these, we would’ve been happy. And it took off regularly from the beginning and now we regularly get a couple hundred people and the turnout is great,” said Christopher Byrd, one of the co-founders of the Buffalo Mass Mob.
