Tonawanda man accused of murder in Black Rock shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Tonawanda man has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with a fatal September 2025 shooting in Buffalo’s Black Rock neighborhood, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

Jamere Davis, 21, is accused of fatally shooting 47-year-old Samuel Whisonant on the 100 block of Thompson Street around 6 a.m. on Sept. 30, 2025. Officials allege that Davis later returned to Whisonant’s home and took a PlayStation and a DVR box.

Davis is also facing charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and tampering with physical evidence…
