Police investigate shooting near Buffalo-Cheektowaga border

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Police are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday night near the Buffalo-Cheektowaga border.

A 35-year-old man was seriously injured after being shot around 7:15 p.m. Thursday. While police were called to the area near Genesee Street and near East Delavan Avenue, officers later determined the shooting occurred Pine Ridge Road and Genesee Street.

The man was shot once in the upper torso, Cheektowaga Police said. He was taken to Erie County Medical Center with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening…
