Upstate NY man sentenced for armed robbery of liquor store, high-speed police pursuit

An Upstate New York man will spend more than a decade in prison for his role in an armed robbery at a liquor store that ended with a police chase through two municipalities.

Jayshawn L. Williams, 35, of Buffalo, received a sentence of 13 years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, on Thursday morning. Williams was sentenced as a second violent felony offender, Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced.

The robbery occurred on Nov. 22, 2022, at a liquor store in the Town of Hamburg. Williams and another person, both wearing ski masks, entered the store and forced an employee to open the cash register…
