BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Common Council has approved more than $1.6 million in lawsuit settlements, highlighting ongoing concerns about city liability and the cost to taxpayers.
Among the largest payouts is a $700,000 civil settlement involving a police officer and alleged civil rights violations, including false arrest and malicious prosecution.
