(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man has been sentenced to more than two decades in prison for the fatal shooting of his co-worker inside a corner store in the city’s Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood.
Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced that Abdula Hussein, 27, was sentenced on March 31, 2026, before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan. Hussein received a determinate sentence of 22 years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision.
The sentencing stems from a shooting that occurred on February 21, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Buffalo Police responded to reports of gunfire at a corner store located on Broadway near Sears Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 62-year-old Tawfaik Alsheari deceased inside the business.
