BUFFALO, N.Y. — A longtime favorite in Buffalo’s barbecue scene is entering a new chapter. Fat Bob’s Smokehouse has completed a major renovation of its bar space, bringing a fresh new look to the Allentown staple.
Fat Bob’s first opened in 1998, growing from a neighborhood bar into a well-known dining destination, while developing a thriving catering business, food truck, and more. Owner Patrick Ryan says the latest investment targets the bar area inside the restaurant’s historic building, which dates back to 1910. Ryan says the space hadn’t been significantly updated in decades.
“This opportunity was to focus on our bar space which hadn’t been touched since I’ve been here,” he told 2 On Your Side…
