Buffalo Fiscal Stability Authority to meet Tuesday to talk city budget proposal

The Buffalo Fiscal Stability Authority will meet Tuesday. On its agenda is the Buffalo city budget.

A draft ahead of this meeting shows general support for Mayor Sean Ryan’s plan with a few uncertainties that it would like addressed. However, some of those uncertainties come from a late state budget.

Still, one of the more controversial aspects of the mayor’s plan is the tax levy increase of 25.8%. If approved, a city of Buffalo resident’s property tax bill would go up $12 per month per $100,000 of assessed value. Ryan says for nearly two-thirds of homeowners in Buffalo, the increase will be less than $25 per month…
