Buffalo Grand Hotel’s owner meets with deputy mayor

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The future of one of downtown Buffalo’s most prominent vacant properties remains uncertain, as city officials and developers await a court decision on what comes next for the Buffalo Grand Hotel.

Buffalo Deputy Mayor Thomas Baines says developer Harry Stinson was given 90 days to prove he had secured financial backing to move forward with plans to redevelop the long-vacant hotel. However, Stinson missed that deadline after his financing fell through late last week.

With that setback, the property is now tied up in abandonment proceedings, leaving its fate in the hands of the courts. City leaders say their priority is to prevent further deterioration and bring new life to the building…
