BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Eight female beagles are on their way to Buffalo after being released from Ridglan Farms in Wisconsin — a facility that’s faced years of criticism over the treatment of animals used for testing and breeding.
The dogs are now getting a second chance at life as they travel to Western New York in the care of Against All Oddz Animal Alliance, a local rescue and legal advocacy group, after being released from Ridglan Farms — which has faced lawsuits, welfare violations, and abuse accusations from advocates nationwide.
“These dogs are kind, they’re gentle, they’re loving. And even though they have been through a very tough past, they will have a bright future. They’re so resilient,” Eileen Marutiak, executive director for Against All Oddz, said. “The beagles were used for medical testing at the facility; they were also used for breeding and then sold to other laboratories that do medical testing on animals as well.”…
