Prosecutors ready to go to trial in case of Buffalo officer accused of murdering wife

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Prosecutors in the case of a Buffalo police officer accused of murdering his wife in February are ready to go to trial, they announced in court Friday morning.

Lance Woods, who has been with the department since 2008, is accused of murdering his wife, 35-year-old Alexis Skoczylas, at their home in Sanborn on the morning of Feb. 14.

Defenders representing the 53-year-old officer were granted a request for 45-60 days to continue their review of materials…
