NY weather update: The severe thunderstorm warning for part of New York is forecast to expire at 8 p.m.

The warning had been issued for Allegany, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming counties.

“The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 11 p.m. for western New York.
