Starpoint schools investigate threats, increase police presence out of caution

LOCKPORT, N.Y. — The Starpoint Central School District is reassuring parents after officials investigated two reported threats against the high school and determined both were not credible.

However, those threats prompted an increased law enforcement presence at the school Friday, out of caution.

District leaders said the first report came after a parent contacted the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office when a student received a text message Thursday, claiming there would be a shooting at the school on Friday…
