Sully’s Chowder House Coming to the Former William K’s Restaurant Space

A new restaurant concept is coming to the Erie Basin Marina this summer. Jason Davidson, who manages the marina’s restaurant and hospitality spaces through Harbor Walk Buffalo LLC., is preparing to launch Sully’s Chowder House, which should be an excellent addition to the waterfront line-up.

Previously, Davidson has had a hand in opening Liberty Hound, Fables Café, Waterline Café, The Terrace, and Roux Café at Canalside and at the Burchfield Penney Art Center. Each of these eateries has been somewhat soup oriented, which is why I was not surprised to hear that Davidson’s newest restaurant concept was a chowder house. In a previous interview, Davidson told me that his son’s middle name is Roux – the term means a cooked mixture of equal parts flour and fat that is a base for a soup such as gumbo… or a traditional creamy New England chowder. Obviously, the chowder house concept is in his blood.
